There's a continuing debate amongst Chelsea judges as to whether fuchsia exhibits work better staged on an island site, where they can be seen from all sides, or banked against the side in one spectacular display. Now that the sides of the marquee are so much taller, perhaps the balance is shifting in favour of staging at the sides. CS Lockyer certainly make good use of the height with this impressive collection of both foliage and flowering varieties. This year they introduced two new variegated varieties, 'Dawn Fantasia' and 'Rebekah Sinton'.
