This informal symmetrical garden is restful and quiet and offers practical ideas rather than wild dreams. Built to mark Bradstones 25th year at Chelsea, the softly coloured paving sets off calm, green planting enlivened by silver highlights of senecios, conifers and hostas with bold red maples for a quiet contrast. Although symmetrical in layout, the planting is a carefully designed partial mirror, colours being replicated in different plants to create increasing interest. The blue and grey mosaic sculptures in the front reflect the colour theme.
