A garden that looks both to the past and the future, this intimate restful corner of a lake with its stone cabin and its lush naturalistic planting is very tempting. The cabin is made of natural stone, repaired using its manmade equivalent; the old railway sleeper used as bench is mirrored in the concrete replica sleepers used for the steps. The rich planting is quiet and contemplative, with no bright colours; grasses, purplish irises and blue violas nestle around a big red maple and steely blue spruce.
