Inspired by Mondrian, the layout of the garden is derived from the coloured squares so typical of his best known paintings. Framed in white walls, against which are set small angular blocks of colour, large blocks of rosemary, phormium and grasses give way to rectangles of coloured gravels in the front. A tall pillar, a water sculpture built of nuggets of rose quartz erupts with water and is lit from within.
