Arabella Lennox-Boyd is Italian so you’d expect her final Chelsea garden to have an Italian flavour. Tall slender cypresses along with six huge gnarled olive trees instantly conjure the atmosphere in a formal setting which frames a cool lawn. Richly planted perennial borders in the front, using Mediterranean style plants, are matched with quieter plantings at the rear of the garden. Between them a sleek silver square frames the Vortex of Water water sculpture on its neat green mound. Traditional and modern are seamlessly integrated.
