‘The Shaikh’, as he’s usually known, has addressed the positive side of a serious issue. As our climate changes our evenings and nights become warmer which allows us more time to spend in the garden. Surrounded by tall, slender pyramidal dawn redwoods, an elegant cantilevered roof provides shade in the heat of the day and responds to the brightness of the sun by changing its angle. The planting is cool, white azaleas with creamy hydrangeas and white petunias, and the black marble paving even has bright quartzite flecks. This is indeed a quiet and restful place.
