This extensive exhibit, floored in carefully raked pale sand, saw each tree displayed in its own alcove and each was carefully lit to show off its natural shape and structure. I overheard some visitors saying that the trees should be grouped more closely and then there would be more to see. But the effect is far more impressive when the trees are given their own space.
