Forget hopping on a long haul flight; this display will transport you instantly to the South West of Australia, where the rock is red and plants exotic. Banksias, silver-leaved Eucalyptus macrocarpa and other wizened stems of native trees are a feast to the eyes. Who knows, climate change may mean some of these specimens will be grown in the UK in the future.

This spectacular display of native Australian flowers has been brought from Perth, Western Australia, complete with vast quantities of rock and sand. The exhibit reveals how extraordinary and how different are the wild plants from the other side off the world with huge red banksias and featherflowers, like domes of orange ageratums.
