Fragrance wafted around the marquee as I approached the stand - proving that there really is something special about David Austin’s ‘new’ old roses. Edged in a woven willow fence, the collection is grouped around a pale limestone sculpture of a man with his dog - by David’s wife; every year the exhibit features a new piece.
