Daily News: Bench help for Bosnia
by Martyn Cox
Daily News:

Sales of garden benches will help people rebuild their lives in a former war-torn country.

The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund plan to help Bosnian people by agreeing to license a wooden garden bench. The bench will be shown at Chelsea and be available in the UK by the end of May.

It has been built out of Bosnian oak, harvested from managed forests. Each bench features a hallmarked plaque, which has been inscribed with the Memorial Fund’s logo.

The bench costs £365 and £20 from each sale will go to support the Bosnian Landmine Clearance Operation. A further £30 will go the Diana, Memorial Fund.

Graham Hand, British ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina said: "The economic regeneration of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the key to rebuilding this country. This high-profile contract, involving the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial fund, is the best possible evidence that they can do it."
