Welsh actress Nerys Hughes, best-known for her role in seventies comedy show, The Liver Birds, was at the show to launch the ‘Bliss’ rose for Peter Beales Roses at Attleborough, Norfolk, when she made her startling admission.

"I’m in love with Alan Titchmarsh. He’s a Renaissance man. He can act, write and is a lovely person," said Nerys. "But don’t tell my husband though," she added.

Nery’s said she has been a fan of gardening for years. "I adore gardening and have a small garden in London which I’ve owned for 24 years. Yesterday I was at Richmond Park seeing the azaleas. I also adore roses, they are so romantic, especially yellow and golds".
