Her Majesty the Queen visited the e-garden stand at the Chelsea Flower Show during the Royal Visit on Monday, May 22. As the she toured the new marquees at the Show TV gardener Peter Seabrook, an e-garden columnist, showed her the e-garden/Kinder Garden Plants "Time for Bed" garden on Sunflower Street.

Accompanied by Sir Simon Hornby, President of the Royal Horticultural Society, Her Majesty took great interest in the small front gardens of the double row of terraced houses.

"When she saw the bed she broke into a smile," said Peter. "She was very taken with the whole display." Peter had to leap to her aid as she was about to trip on some string stretched between canes and left by the stewards alongside the display. "I just pulled the sticks out and tossed the string aside," he said. "I don’t stand on ceremony.

"Her Majesty was also most interested by the fact that there were thirty nine horticultural students working on the Sunflower Street displays alongside professional horticulturists,’ he continued. "She immediately saw the value of such co-operation in expanding the students’ horizons."
