Birmingham City Council called on the red-haired star of Ground Force to launch its floral exhibit called "The Millennium Festival: Growing for the Future".

The display consisted of thousands of herbs, which had all been grown organically. The six metre high display rested on a star-like structure, with ‘fingers’ planted up with herbs; these were seated above pools of water containing marble and recycled glass. The whole display was encircled with lavender.

"It’s a very nice water feature. People will find it very relaxing," said Charlie, who is famous for designs that feature water on Ground Force. "I love the foliage contrast of the herbs as well, especially the greens and the yellows."

Herbs featured in the display included Origanum vulgare ‘Aureum’, helichrysum and thyme.
